Honeymoon

God is truly magnificent. He created the beautiful island of Kuramathi in the Maldives and this morning, I finally found the website that allows me to book the water villas! I am overjoyed!

And my fiance was so generous, he allowed me to go all out and book the best room in the resort! I ripped this off the website, but we are in for a treat:
The ultimate in Kuramathi experiences, these over the water retreats offer all creature comforts that you can wish for, combined with complete privacy.

Wedding videos rant

I have a problem. I cry at every Mass I go to and I cry at almost all the wedding videos that I watch in the name of research. Weddings make me cry. How do I ensure that I do not cry at my own wedding? This is crucial seeing that I bawl like a baby at the sight of something beautiful shared about Love, whether it is God's love or Steve's love or our parents' love.

I want to be a smiley bride, not a smeared, teary one. Well, I guess my guests will just have to bear with one real passionate bride on the day. In the meantime, I share some of my favourite pre-wedding video links:

My Lip Shade

I went shopping two weeks ago, inspired from my makeup trial to find the right lipstick for the big day.

Chanel Boy Rouge Coco Shine is a pale beige-y pink with a high shine and very soft, white micro-shimmer. It’s semi-sheer, and the fact that it’s more of a my-lips-but-better shade doesn’t yield a lot of noticeable color, but it’s pretty. Chanel describes the Rouge Coco Shine formula as a moisturizing, high-shine lipstick with a lightweight texture. The Hydratendre complex is supposed to hydrate and soften lips to give them a fuller look.

Am really excited about this as it is my first real lipstick and Boy was Coco's REAL LOVE after all...

Hair Inspiration

Last week I stumbled upon this most beautiful bride and I <3 <3 <3 her hair for the wedding!

If only my hair was long like hers.

I am so gonna keep my eyes peeled for a hairpiece like hers. So far, I am liking these bespoke ones:
The first one fits much better and you'll see why when I show you pictures of the gorgeous details of my dress.
Gosh I had forgotten how stunning the dress is and I have had all wind knocked out of me! Hope that is the same effect it will have on others on the day...

The first week of April

It was one crazy week which kicked off with us going to his firm's Tax Gala at the Doltone House. It was a masquerade ball and I must say I love them! The enigmatic atmosphere of it all often evokes a very romantic Romeo meets Juliet ambience that I cannot seem to find elsewhere.

Then I flew out to Melbourne and caught up with my cousins whom hadn't seen the ring or heard the proposal story yet so we share. Jac comments: "Don't worry you can always upgrade the ring later" And whilst I know I am hearing it out of context, in my mind I am squeamish... no! I could never upgrade on my husband! Its with everything in life... you can always have a better model, but it depends how long you are willing to hold out for. As for me, I know that at each point of my life, Mah Boo is the best model for that time in place for me and so I could not complain. (How mushy is that?)

Whilst sitting in a conference in Melbourne, Boo calls and I slip out to pick up the call.
"I hope you don't mind, but I made an offer on the Hayward place"

"The what place? What? How much?"

"The triangle place."

*steadies myself* *mental gulp* and I am sure with an uncertain quiver in my voice, " Wow"

"And the vendor's accepted"

"Have you talked  to your parents? Are they backing this?"

"Yes. They told me to make the offer"

"Oh..."

***
And then after exchanging contracts and putting down the 10% deposit, we strode along the busy night streets of Sydney that fateful Friday night and he said, "I said this two years ago when I bought my place and I'll say it again. It doesn't matter what else happens for the rest of this year. It is already a wonderful year!"

Now I know it is a dilapidated cottage and that it isn't anybody's dream home yet... but it is ours, and it is in the suburb where we met and want to live out the rest of our lives in. So we can be like his parents and extend the place later on. I love it more and more the more I think of it. I can't wait to get married out of there!
