What to pack in your hospital bag
· Sleep suits, hats, outfits, swaddles and about 10 infant nappies for baby
· Maternity sanitary pads (crazy big thick ones as the bleeding those first few days is insane).
· Toiletries
· Blanket for baby
· You can wear a maternity gown from the hospital or you can pack some comfy clothes, think breastfeeding friendly but also loose fitting particularly when you'd have scars or tubes hanging out of you post birth if you've had an epidural.
· Mobile phone and a charger
· Old/ disposable knickers but I have had to knick a few from the hospital as everything is just a little sore in the beginning still.
· Arnica for bruising which I had from the epidural and drip. Not needed for a natural birth however.
· Your birth plan and maternity medical notes
· Breast massage oils to kickstart the milk production, which I found I didn't need the second time around.
· Snacks for energy throughout labour
